Honorary Doctorate for Dr. Prabhakar Kore by Univeristi Sains Malaysia
Honorable Chancellor KLE University & Chairman KLE Society, Dr. Prabhakar Kore has been conferred an honorable doctorate by Universiti Sains Malaysia at its 52nd Convocation held at Penang, Malaysia on 17th Nov 2015. The recognition is a matter of great pride for the KLE Society since Dr. Kore is only the second Indian after Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam to receive the honor from USM which is an apex university (research intensive) funded by Malaysian government. The recognition was conferred at the hands of HRH Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, Raja of Perlis, Chancellor of USM.
KLE Society has shouldered a unique responsibility of facilitating an innovative health science education program for students from Malaysia. Under this USM KLE International Medical Programme, students from Malaysia pursue and complete their education in Medical Sciences at an exclusive, well equipped and state of the art campus at Belagavi. To further the effectiveness of this program, these students are associated with KLE Society’s Centenary Charitable Hospital, Yelur for hands on experience. The first batch of 48 students graduated in 2015 and the said students will be incorporated in the Malaysian healthcare system.
The KLE Society has just stepped into its 100th year of dedicated service. The recognition of Chairman Dr. Kore for his role in facilitating international partnerships in the domain of health sciences and research symbolizes the emergence of KLE as an organization of global repute and acceptance.
